Svensk Elektronik participates in the program council for vocational education in electronics production in Mölndal

Some of the companies in the local area that see the need for electronics education at high school are Alltronic AB, Altus AB, Aros electronics AB, Beyond Gravity Sweden AB, Frontside Electronics AB, Marenius Elektronikutveckling AB and Skill.

Since the upper secondary school reform GY25 comes into force next year, the focus needs to be directly adapted to the changes that will then come into effect. Svensk Elektronik's Research & Education section, which in addition to participating in Krokslättsgymnasiet's programme council is also part of the National Agency for Education's national programme council, is helping to ensure the smoothest possible transition.

The section has, in the Swedish National Agency for Education's programme council, invested a lot of work in developing subject plans in electronics and electronics production and, in that work, invited members to workshops to discuss the content of the subject plans and what knowledge is particularly important to gain after the education.

The proposals, which were then prepared with the help of a specialist with extensive experience in both electronics-related education and innovation, were received positively by the Swedish National Agency for Education and have now been decided to apply from 2025.

Hopefully, the work will now be of good use to the electronics major at Krokslättsgymnasiet and to others who want to start similar career paths.

A good initiative has been taken in Mölndal and Svensk Elektronik would like to take this opportunity to urge companies in the industry to support "their" high schools in starting electronics education. We need to remember that work in the industry is often both invisible and unknown among young people and joint efforts are therefore of great importance.
