Stefan Jakab, new industry manager for Swedish Electronics

In addition to his role as Secretary General of the Energy and Environmental Technology Association, Stefan most recently served as Sweden Manager for a company in the HVAC industry. He also has extensive experience from several roles in the telecom industry and is a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Economics from the Royal Institute of Technology.

– I have always worked with sales in some form, based on function and value creation for the customer. Seeing solutions and opportunities instead of problems and difficulties is one of my better abilities. It is fundamentally about what approach to your surroundings you decide to have, says Stefan.

As the new industry manager for Svensk Elektronik, Stefan's main task will be to continue developing the organization's offering and create even more member benefits.

– We will continue to work for the best interests of the entire Swedish electronics industry and strengthen our members' competitiveness internationally. An important part of this is to create conditions for the industry's development nationally and get our decision-makers to dare to invest in our industry. It is a challenge, but we are a solid organization with good opportunities, explains Stefan.

Experience is said to be a function of time and one of the experiences Stefan has developed over the years, and brings with him into his new role, is the ability to listen.

– It is important to be sensitive to different trends and listen to our members – all in order to find the common denominator in order to be able to secure, stable and sustainable companies within the Swedish electronics industry in the long term. Our members are, and will continue to be, an important part of the transition towards a more sustainable future and a large part of Swedish business. We will become better at highlighting and informing about this, adds Stefan.

Stefan lives with his wife Lotta, a son who lives at home and the apple of the family's eye, Lord Nelson, an English Springer Spaniel, in Stavsnäs Village in Värmdölandet. Two children have left home and are on their own, which also gives him more time for some of Stefan's many interests.

– My interests range from building conservation and archipelago life to vintage watches and champagne. Although the older and antique often capture my interest, I would say that I am a forward-thinking man with a focus on improvements and refinement, both at work and in my private life, he concludes.
