Directive Day

On November 22 (2017), Svensk Elektronik arranged another fully booked Directive Day. Many people wanted to come and a reserve list was drawn up several weeks before the event. Many people realize the importance of having a good grasp of laws and directives.

Experts provided information on current issues within the many directives and regulations affecting electronics. Many participants have testified to how much the Directive Day has helped them to understand how the directives affect them and how they can work further. A time- and cost-effective way to keep track of the regulations and how they should be complied with. The Directive Day is free of charge for members as a member benefit.

With experts on site from both authorities and companies, a wide range of directives and regulations were discussed. The Swedish Chemicals Agency gave us an in-depth look at the latest news about REACH and RoHS and how supervision is carried out. PTS informed about the new Radio Equipment Directive (RED). Intertek informed about the difficult issue of conflict minerals.

In the afternoon, a review of all the directives and regulations that most companies need to comply with was held, followed by a workshop. The workshop discussed interpretations of the legal texts and how we do in practice to best work with these issues. The day was moderated by Maria Månsson (Prevas).

The presentations from the day will be available on the member-internal pages shortly.
