Privacy Policy
Svensk Elektronik values your personal privacy and always strives for a high level of protection of personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect and use your personal information. It also describes what rights you have and how you can use them. You are always welcome to contact us if you have any questions about how we process your personal data.
What is personal data and what is the processing of personal data?
Everything that can be directly or indirectly traced back to a living natural person is covered by the concept of personal data. This includes not only names and social security numbers, but also images and email addresses, for example.
Processing of personal data is everything that happens with personal data in IT systems, regardless of whether it is mobile devices or computers. It involves, for example, collection, registration, structuring, storage, processing and transmission. In some cases, things that happen outside the IT systems can also be seen as processing. This applies when it comes to registers.
Who is responsible for the personal data we process?
The person who decides why and how personal data is processed is called the data controller. A data controller can be, for example, a municipality, authority, organization or company.
Svensk Elektronik is responsible for the personal data we store. Address: Storgatan 5, 114 44 Stockholm.
If you have any questions about your personal data, you can contact us via: office@svenskelektronik.se
What personal data do we collect about you and for what purpose?
In order to administer your organization's membership and handle member service matters, we store some of your personal data in our membership register. The processing of your personal data is necessary to satisfy our and your interest in handling member service matters. This so-called legitimate interest together with the membership agreement entered into constitutes a legal basis for us to store your personal data. When your organization becomes a member, you will also receive information about how we process your personal data.
We mainly process your name, your email address, your telephone number and your position. Sometimes additional information may be processed, for example if you are a member of parliament or a local politician, but only if you yourself can be considered to have made the information public. For certain services, you can also, but are not required to, state areas of interest. We process your personal data for the purpose of providing the services and products you have requested (for example, a newsletter or participation in a training course). We will also process your personal data to maintain and administer our relationship with you and, where applicable, to administer the agreement with you or with your employer. We may also inform you about our courses, events and other things that we find to be in both your and our interest.
In addition, we may use your personal data to inform you about products and services that we offer and that may be of interest to you. If you are a professional user, we may also inform you about products and services from our member organizations and partners.
If you are a professional user, the data we receive as described above (such as data in connection with ordering services or products or participating in seminars or activities organized by us) may be analyzed and processed (including for profiling). The purpose is to provide you with more tailored and relevant information.
Svensk Elektronik always processes your personal data in accordance with applicable legislation. We process your personal data when it is necessary to fulfill a contract with you or respond to your request for service or when we have another legitimate and justified interest in processing your personal data, such as an interest in marketing our services.
If Svensk Elektronik were to process your personal data for any purpose that requires your consent, we will obtain your consent in advance. Some personal data may be mandatory to provide, for example in order for us to provide a service or fulfill another request from you. This will then be stated or made clear in connection with the collection of the data.
For employees of member companies: For employees of member companies, we may also process personal data in other ways than mentioned above. This is primarily linked to the employer's membership and applies to various contact persons. Information about contact persons may be needed to manage the membership and issues related to it. This may concern, for example, information about membership in various working groups.
From which sources do we obtain your personal data?
Your personal data is collected, for example, when you provide your details when you sign up for newsletters, participate in seminars and other events, order services and/or products from us or contact us. Also, when the company you work for applies for and/or participates in a recruitment campaign, data may be collected about people in leading roles at the company. Sometimes we obtain data from third parties.
Who may we share your personal data with?
In some situations, it is necessary for us to engage other parties to perform our work. For example, we use various IT suppliers. They are to be considered as personal data processors for us.
Svensk Elektronik is responsible for signing agreements with all personal data processors and providing instructions on how they may process the personal data. We of course check all personal data processors to ensure that they can provide sufficient guarantees regarding the security and confidentiality of the personal data.
When personal data processors are hired, it is only for purposes that are compatible with the purposes we ourselves have for the processing.
Actors who are independent data controllers: We also share your personal data with certain other parties who are independent data controllers. This may include authorities, such as the Swedish Tax Agency, and other member organizations. Some information is also provided for statistical purposes.
When your personal data is shared with an actor that is an independent data controller, that organization's data protection policy and data processing policies apply.
We may engage suppliers and partners to perform tasks on behalf of Svensk Elektronik, for example to provide IT services or assist with marketing, analysis or statistics. The performance of these services may mean that these recipients have access to your personal data.
Svensk Elektronik may also disclose personal information to third parties, such as the police or other authorities, if it concerns the investigation of a crime or if we are otherwise obliged to disclose such information by law or authority decision.
Where do we process your personal data?
We always strive for your personal data to be processed within the EU/EEA, but sometimes this is not possible.
For certain IT support, the data may be transferred to a country outside the EU/EEA. This applies, for example, if we share your personal data with a data processor who, either itself or through a subcontractor, is established or stores information in a country outside the EU/EEA. As data controllers, we are responsible for taking all reasonable legal, technical and organizational measures to ensure that these processing operations are carried out in accordance with regulations within the EU/EEA.
When personal data is processed outside the EU/EEA, the level of protection is guaranteed either by a decision from the EU Commission that the country in question ensures an adequate level of protection or by the use of so-called appropriate safeguards. These include, among others, the ”Privacy Shield”, the use of ”Binding Corporate Rules” and various contractual solutions. If you would like further information about these safeguards, you are welcome to contact us. Standard model clauses for data transfer, as established by the EU Commission, are also available on the EU Commission’s website.
How long do we store your personal data?
We never store your personal data for longer than is necessary for the respective purpose. We have developed cleaning routines to ensure that personal data is not stored for longer than is necessary for the specific purpose. How long this is varies depending on the reason for the processing. Certain accounting information needs to be stored for at least seven years due to legislation, while information about, for example, special diets when participating in events is deleted within a week or so after the event has ended.
What are your rights as a data subject?
As a data subject, you have a number of rights under applicable law. For information on how to exercise your rights, see the section ”Manage your rights” below. Below we list the rights of the data subject.
Right to register extracts (right of access): If you would like to know what personal data we process about you, you can request access to the data. When you make such a request, we may ask you some questions to ensure that your request is handled efficiently. We will also take steps to ensure that the data is requested from and provided to the right person.
Right to rectification: If you discover that something is wrong, you have the right to request that your personal data be corrected. You can also complete any incomplete personal data.
- The data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it is processed.
- You object to a balancing of interests we have made based on our legitimate interest, where your reason for objection outweighs our legitimate interest.
- The personal data is being processed illegally.
- The personal data has been collected about a child (under 13 years of age) for whom you have parental responsibility.
- If the information was collected with your consent and you want to withdraw your consent.
Right to erasure: You can request that we delete the personal data we process about you, including if:
However, we may be entitled to refuse your request if there are legal obligations that prevent us from immediately erasing certain personal data. It may also be the case that processing is necessary for us to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If we are prevented from erasing your personal data, we will block the personal data from being used for purposes other than the purpose for which it cannot be erased.
Right to restriction: You have the right to request that our processing of your personal data be restricted. If you object to the accuracy of the personal data we process, you may request that processing be restricted for the time we need to verify whether the personal data is accurate.
If and when we no longer need your personal data for the stated purposes, our normal practice is to delete the data. If you need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, you can request that we restrict the processing of your data. This means that you can request that we not erase or delete your data.
If you have objected to a legitimate interest balancing exercise that we have made as a legal basis for a purpose, you may request restricted processing for the time we need to check whether our legitimate interests outweigh your interests in having the data deleted.
If processing has been restricted in any of the situations above, we may only process the data, in addition to the storage itself, to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, to protect the rights of someone else or if you have given your consent.
Right to object to certain types of processing: You always have the right to object to any processing of personal data based on a balancing of interests. You also always have the right to opt out of direct marketing.
Right to data portability: As a data subject, you have the right to data portability if our right to process your personal data is based either on your consent or the performance of a contract with you. A prerequisite for data portability is that the transfer is technically possible and can be automated.
