What a year 2015 has been!

During the year, we have criticized the proposal for a new chemical tax on electronics, which we believe would directly hinder the competitiveness of companies. The proposal is still under development and we remain active on the issue.

This year's Directive Day brought together many people, where we had experts on site who spoke about REACH, RoHS, WEEE 2, EMC, Ecodesign and also highlighted issues around conflict minerals. Svensk Elektronik acts and influences to take advantage of the industry's interests in various ways. We meet decision-makers in many contexts.

Did you know that we have also continuously acted and defended reasonable payment times? If you receive demands for a payment time longer than 30 days, as you know, we have a letter that we can send out from Svensk Elektronik in which we point out that long payment times create a dangerous domino effect that benefits no one. Suppliers should not be forced to be banks.

Business and knowledge are as always in focus, not least at our events Stora Elektronikdagen, Embedded Conference Scandinavia and Swedish Embedded Award. With business and innovative power in mind, we are also involved in driving VINNOVA's multi-million SEK initiative Smarter Electronics Systems, and are also involved in the IoT Sweden program.

We summarized all of this on December 3 at this year's autumn meeting, where we presented, among other things, the results of our member survey and how we can do more for our members and the industry as a whole. A highlight was Business Sweden's presentation of the report "Why we manufacture in Sweden". This report highlights that companies are moving their manufacturing to Sweden because it is most competitive. As a member, you can download the report download here. After the meeting, there was of course time for mingling and dinner.
